The Discipline Process & Hearing Dates

DISCIPLINE BY REVIEW CASES (DBR)
Cases Including Violent Conduct, Serious Foul Play and Foul and Abusive Language Directed at the Referee will be Discipline By Review, unless otherwise notified by the Discipline Committee.

Any case listed as DBR will be reviewed by the Discipline Committee.  All parties disciplined under this system will be notified of their suspension by email.  This information will also be available on the web site.

All suspensions begin immediately after notification from the league.

Failure to appear to have a player book marked within the time frame above will result in a one-time fine of $25.

There will be a $100 administrative fee to those that want to request a hearing for a DBR case.  The request for a hearing (in writing) and the $100 fee must be received within 72 hours of the offence. Failure to appear for a requested hearing will result in forfeiture of the administrative fee and Discipline by Review will apply.

DISCIPLINE BY HEARING CASES (DBH)
Only cases of a serious nature will be processed as Discipline by Hearing.  The club and team will be notified by email for those cases that require a hearing.  The player or representative must appear with the OS Player Book/Card.  If the player is under the age of 18 they must be accompanied by a representative who is over the age of 18.

Hearings will be held (TBD) and the Notice of Discipline will state the time of the case.  A list of scheduled hearing dates is listed below.

Any requests for postponement must be received a minimum 24 hours prior to the Hearing along with a $100 Request for Postponement of Discipline Hearing fee’ and a letter stating why a postponement is needed.  If the Hearing is not postponed the Fee will be returned.

A $100 Request for Discipline Hearing will be charged to those that fail to appear at a hearing.  The party is also suspended from all soccer until they appear for the hearing.

 
SPECIAL INCIDENT REPORTS (SIR)
All SIR cases will be individually emailed to the club.  A hearing date and time will be scheduled by the League Office and all affected parties will be notified.

INFORMATION ABOUT HEARINGS
Please note that all hearings are held Tuesday or Wednesday nights as per the schedule below.

Parties indicated on a Notice of Discipline Hearing as, "Parties Required to Attend" must attend the Discipline Hearing at the noted time, date and place and must bring all proper documentation and identification (i.e., Player Registration Book, Team Official Book,).  A registered youth player must be accompanied by an adviser.  Any accused person may be accompanied by an adviser.
An official representative of the Club is required to attend.  This representative may NOT act as a witness, as well.  

Failure to appear by any of the "Parties Required to Attend" following receipt of notification will result in suspension from all soccer related activities until he/she attends a hearing, as per Ontario Soccer Section 12. Policy 5.6.6.B

Requests for postponement of a Discipline Hearing must be submitted as per above.

The accused is entitled to bring and adviser, witnesses and up to two (2) observers (Ontario Soccer Section 12, Policy 5.4.1.B(c)).  Witnesses are entitled to attend but, must appear in person.  Written reports submitted by witnesses are not accepted unless the witness is in attendance to corroborate their report (Ontario Soccer Section 12, Policy 5.7.4.1).
